At PMT (Chengdu Precise CNC Machine Tool Co., Ltd.), independent research and development combined with full in-house manufacturing is the core of our competitiveness. From the very beginning, our goal has been clear: to design and build high-precision CNC machine tools that can stand alongside the world’s leading brands while giving customers greater flexibility, reliability and value.

From Bridgeport Heritage to PMT Innovation

Our technical roots can be traced back to the European and American Bridgeport machine tools. In the 1990s and early 2000s, our team participated in a Sino-foreign joint venture with Bridgeport in China. This experience gave us direct access to advanced design concepts, process standards and quality systems from mature Western machine tool manufacturers.

On this foundation, PMT was established in 2005 in the Chengdu High-Tech West Zone. Instead of simply continuing to assemble existing models, we chose a more challenging path: to develop our own CNC machining centers and 5 Axis CNC Machine solutions, optimized for the needs of Chinese and global customers.

Full In-House Control of the Manufacturing Process

Unlike many suppliers who outsource key processes, PMT keeps the critical steps of machine tool manufacturing inside our own facilities. This vertical integration allows us to control every detail that affects precision, stability and long-term reliability.

Our in-house capabilities include:

  • Mechanical design and engineering – structural design, dynamic analysis and optimization for rigidity and thermal stability.
  • Casting and machining of major components – bases, columns, tables and heads are processed on precision equipment to ensure alignment and accuracy.
  • Assembly and hand-scraping – experienced technicians complete the fine fitting and adjustment of guideways, spindles and axes.
  • Electrical integration and control – CNC systems, drives, motors and wiring are integrated and tested by our own engineering team.
  • Metrology and performance testing – each CNC machining center and 5 Axis CNC Machine undergoes rigorous geometry, positioning accuracy and cutting tests before delivery.

By keeping these processes under one roof, we can strictly implement our quality standards, respond quickly to design improvements and trace every machine’s history throughout its lifecycle.

High-Precision CNC Machining Centers Built In-House

PMT independently develops and manufactures a complete line of high-precision CNC machining centers:

  • Horizontal CNC machining centers for high-efficiency machining of gearbox housings, engine blocks and precision components.
  • 5 Axis CNC Machine solutions for complex aerospace, energy and medical parts that require multi-side machining in a single setup.
  • Gantry and portal machining centers for large and heavy workpieces in mold, die and general engineering applications.

Each series is designed and optimized by our R&D team in Chengdu. Key features such as spindle structure, guideway configuration, chip removal, cooling and guarding are customized according to application requirements rather than copied from standard catalog designs.

Rapid Customization for Real-World Applications

Because PMT controls the entire design and manufacturing chain, we can offer customization far beyond simple options or accessories. For customers with specific processes, materials or workpiece sizes, our engineers can:

  • Adjust travels, table sizes and load capacities
  • Configure special spindles, tool magazines and rotary tables
  • Integrate probing, measurement and process monitoring systems
  • Match automation interfaces for robots, pallet systems and FMS lines

This ability to rapidly customize horizontal machining centers, 5 Axis CNC Machine models and gantry machines allows our customers to build production systems that fit their exact needs instead of compromising with generic solutions.

In-house manufacturing is also the foundation of our after-sales service. Because we design and build our own machines, we understand every part in detail and can supply spare parts, upgrades and technical support over a long service life.
