Installation & Commissioning — Turning PMT Machines Into Productive Capacity

A high-precision CNC machine only reaches its full potential when it is correctly installed, aligned and commissioned under real production conditions. PMT provides professional installation and commissioning services for our CNC machining centers, 5 Axis CNC Machines, turning centers, gear machining equipment, automation cells and FMS lines.
From foundation checks and machine positioning to accuracy verification, test cutting and production ramp-up, we ensure your new equipment starts stable, precise and ready for long-term aerospace-grade manufacturing.

Overview & Benefits

From Delivery to Stable Production — A Structured Start-Up Process

PMT’s installation and commissioning services are built from years of experience in Chinese aerospace, defense and other high-end industries, where reliability and accuracy are non-negotiable. We understand that every hour of uncertainty during start-up delays your return on investment—so our process is organized, transparent and engineering-driven.

Rather than simply “installing a machine”, we treat each project as a complete transition from equipment delivery to repeatable, real-world productivity. Our teams are familiar with complex multi-axis machining, titanium alloys, difficult-to-cut materials and automated production lines, enabling us to foresee potential risks and resolve them early.

What You Gain from PMT Installation & Commissioning
  • Faster start-up and shorter time-to-production, so your investment begins generating value sooner

  • Verified machine accuracy on site, not only at the factory—critical for aerospace-grade tolerances

  • Stable long-term performance thanks to correct foundation, leveling and parameter settings

  • Smooth integration of automation and FMS, ensuring robots, pallets and lines run as designed

  • Reduced technical risk through structured SAT procedures and complete documentation

  • More confident operators and engineers, trained during the commissioning process itself

  • A long-term technical partner who understands both high-end machining and practical manufacturing constraints

With PMT managing installation and commissioning, your new CNC machines and automation systems start working not just as equipment, but as a reliable, high-efficiency production capability for your factory.

Pre-Installation Planning & Site Assessment

Before shipment, PMT engineers review your plant layout, foundation conditions, power supply, coolant and air systems, crane access and material flow. We help you confirm installation dimensions, environmental requirements and logistics arrangements to minimize on-site surprises and downtime.

On arrival, our service team supervises unloading, positioning and anchoring of the machine. Using precision instruments, we perform leveling, geometric checks and base inspections to create a stable foundation—especially important for 5-axis machining centers, gantry machines and high-speed spindles.

Foundation, Leveling & Machine Positioning

Utility Hook-Up & System Integration

PMT engineers coordinate the connection of electrical power, air, coolant, hydraulic units, chip conveyors, mist collectors and automation interfaces. For lines with robots, pallet systems or FMS, we verify interlocks, safety signals and communication to ensure seamless integration into your production environment.

We configure and verify CNC control parameters, machine data, safety limits, tool and work offsets, probing routines and machine options according to the confirmed specification. For special projects, we can help set up initial process parameters tailored to your materials and parts.

Control Initialization & Parameter Optimization

Accuracy Verification & Test Cutting

Using laser interferometers, ballbar tests, geometric inspection and test cuts, we confirm that the installed machine meets PMT’s accuracy standards and customer requirements. For aerospace and high-precision components, we can carry out trial machining on representative parts and assist with dimensional verification.

Based on the agreed acceptance criteria, PMT performs Site Acceptance Test procedures together with your team, including functional checks, safety confirmation, cycle-time verification and sample part inspection. We provide corresponding reports and records for your internal quality and audit needs.

Site Acceptance Test (SAT) & Documentation

Operator Handover, Training & Initial Production Support

After SAT, we guide your operators and programmers through actual production jobs on the new equipment, fine-tuning fixtures, tool paths and cutting conditions. This ensures a smooth handover from commissioning to stable batch production, reducing trial-and-error time on the shop floor.

For automated cells and flexible manufacturing systems, PMT supports staged ramp-up—from single-machine verification to multi-machine, multi-pallet or multi-robot operation. We help optimize scheduling strategies, tool management and loading patterns so that your automation investment quickly delivers its full efficiency.
